Kentucky Entrepreneur Tackles Nation's Real Estate Dilemma

July 10th, 2009

Louisville native John Williamson is poised to remedy the under-serviced marketing aspect of the investment real estate industry by launching Uvestor.com right here in Kentucky this week.

Uvestor.com is an online investment property marketplace. It supplements the MLS for properties sold in As-Is condition. With more features than any other online resource, Uvestor.com solves some of the frustrations users have had with purchasing these types of properties in the past. Kentucky brokers, realtors, and investors have reacted enthusiastically, as this national platform will debut locally before branching out to 150 different markets. He is most excited about the Louisville Forclosures market place first.

Williamson’s entrepreneurial spirit dates back to age 13 when he started a lawn mowing business in his grandmother’s neighborhood. After graduating from Eastern High School and attending college at the University of Kentucky, he took a break from studies and relocated to Salt Lake City, where he first became involved with the real estate industry and also helped launch guerilla marketing campaigns in support of the 2002 Winter Olympic Games.

After his stint in Utah, Williamson returned to his home state and obtained a BBA in Marketing and International Business from the University of Kentucky. During his senior year, he became president of UK’s Entrepreneurs Club, an organization he continues to support and promote. It was during his time with the Eclub that he initially became involved with web application development.

Subsequently, he was a founding member of 3rd Dimension Design, the CEO of iHigh.com, and the sole proprietor of Whiteboard Enterprises. He has been involved with the real estate industry to varying degrees for the better part of a decade. During five years as an entrepreneur in Lexington, Williamson befriended, partnered with and worked for some of the city's most successful fellow entrepreneurs.

In 2008, he returned to Louisville to focus on Uvestor.com, his most ambitious project to date. Though the state has seen fewer startup companies and sluggish job creation in recent years, Williamson has overcome this trend, established a satellite office with team members in Lexington and now has his company ideally situated for a breakout year.

7 Easy Steps To Create True and Lasting Happiness In Life!

July 7th, 2009

Author: Tenzin Pemo

Everyone wants to have a happier life, but very few know how to go about it in order to make it a reality. It is not as difficult as you may think. For a lot of us, we have our home life, school or work, and our relationships. These are some key aspects as there are steps you can take in reach area of your life to have more happiness.

1. Happiness Starts at Home

The first place you have to find happiness is at home. This comes before you can find happiness in your career or love life. There are many people who have a dreadful feeling when they think of going home, but this can be changed very easily.

The first thing you should do is find out why you would rather not go home, and what you can do to change it. For example, if your home is an uninviting atmosphere, you can redecorate your house in a big or small way. Buy some new lamps, rugs, or decorations if you only have a little cash to spend. Purchase new furniture and repaint the rooms if you have quite a bit to spend on this project.

It is key to surround yourself with things that you enjoy. After all, it is your home, and you spend a lot of time there. Arrange your furniture in a calming pattern, and make sure each area reflects who you are. Making little changes in your home every once in a while will give you an entirely new experience. Moreover, it may just make you want to come home more frequently.

2. Make the Most of Your Career

Whether you are attending school or are already in an established career, you have to be sure that you are enjoying what you do each day. The career that you choose will be a part of your life for many years, so it is important that you like it. Nobody wants a job that they hate reporting to each day.

If you are a bit on the younger side, choose your career wisely. Think about the decision carefully before making a choice, then go with that choice. Waiting an extraordinarily long period of time may place you in a position of not having the ability to capitalize on the career you want.

If you are older and you are stuck in a career you do not enjoy, begin looking into other opportunities. Even if it takes some time and money, ensuring you are in an employment area you enjoy is essential to your happiness.

3. Make Yourself at Home at your Workplace

Try not to make your job a mundane routine. Be spontaneous. It will make you far more productive. For example, if you sit in an office all day, you can decorate the place to make it a location that is both relaxing and stimulating. Moreover, be sure to design it so it is someplace you would like to be.

4. Bring Fun Into your Work

Do not let your job bring you down. If you liven up your workplace, you now have to make the most of your time there. If you are an introvert, try to be more outgoing with people that you work with. Work a sense of humor into your day-to-day dealings with customers. Start a conversation. Make a friend or two. Having people that you like at work can make the job a lot more enjoyable.

5. Getting Into a Relationship

After you have established a comfort level in your home and work atmosphere, it is time to add a love interest in your life. There are a couple main issues when it comes to relationships: finding the right person, and making sure they are worth your time.

Having a relationship is an investment in emotion and time. They take dedication and hard work in order to make relationships work. If you are searching for a life mate, it may not happen overnight, and sometimes the person you are looking for is right in front of you. It is all up to you to find the person with the qualities you are looking for. Remember, though, you should not be overly picky as nobody is perfect, and you have flaws another person may have to learn to live with as well.

6. Keeping a Stable Relationship

Once you have found a person that has the qualities you are looking for you have to make sure you keep them happy. You have to make time for them by ensuring that your work or study load is proportionate to the time you allow for the two of you to be together.

Remember, if you ignore your partner, you can create distance between the two of you. At the very same time, though, you also have to give that person space because coming on too strong or not allowing them enough space to be their own person will only put distance between the two of you.

7. Do Not Forget Yourself

The most important part of your life is not your school, work, or love life, it is you. You cannot forget to love yourself and who you are to make you happy.

If you are in the process of searching for a happier life, carefully consider some of these tips.

Debt frowned upon by society despite thousands being in it

June 10th, 2009

Although millions of people throughout the UK rely heavily on their credit cards and other forms of borrowing debt is still frowned upon by society. Each year thousands of individuals spend too much and add this debt onto their cards and then find they have spent way over their limit and can no longer comfortably afford to repay their debts. Debt builds up and continues to do so and even if the individual has reached the situation through no fault of their own such as losing their job or becoming incapacitated and being unable to work they do not want to tell others of their situation such is the stigma associated with debt.

However it is essential that you do take steps and that you remember that there are many others in your situation. Society does worry about debt stigma but there are thousands of individuals who have borrowed beyond their means and who have taken that first step and not worried about being shunned by society. It is these people that have worked out a plan, with help, to become free of debt. One solution is an IVA, another is a consolidation loan or perhaps a debt management plan. Talk with an advisor and get your life back on track and back into the society of the debt free again.
